2017 Elves

The Elves theme might not be your favourite, but it’s one worth following mostly for some unusual parts that specifically appear in this theme. In 2017, we will be getting some new ones again, and I am more and more looking forward seeing these sets (and others from the theme) on my building desk.

For now, the largest set is 41185-1: Magic Rescue from the Goblin Village, featuring three smaller buildings, lots of elven vegetation, and three goblins, apparently bad guys. Other sets are 41184-1: Aira’s Air Ship and the Hunt for the Amulet, 41183-1: The Goblin King’s Evil Dragon, 41182-1: The Capture of Sophie Jones, and 41181-1: Naida’s Gondola & the Goblin Thief. The parts I’m excited to see are a new curvy goldenfences, the bright colours of leaves, and accessories.

New Friends sets in 2017

This came as a morning’s surprise as I wasn’t expecting to see any pictures yet. Since I’m liking lots of details, here’s some of the pictures of the upcoming Friends sets to help your curiosity (thanks to FriendsBricks).

Stephanie’s House (set 41314) has lovely, but stickered, windows and they would look great on many residential buildings. Not to mention all the interior details.

10255 Assembly Square

After a long wait, the news modular fans were waiting for is finally here. To celebrate the 10th anniversary, TLG will release a new modular building, namely the 10255 Assembly Square. Featuring 4002 pieces and costing 240 EUR is actually a combination of three buildings, all ful with details reminiscent of its predecessors. All in all, there’s lovely colours, interesting design, versatile businesses, and lots of intereseting new parts. It’s worth checking the pictures for more details.

LEGO® Ideas 21306 Yellow Submarine

The latest LEGO Ideas set is something for LEGO and Beatles’ fans alike, a Yellow Submarine with the fab four in minifig form. Since I fit both categories, this is a must buy for me. The set will be available from November 1st for 60 EUR. The submarine is bright and colourful, just the way it should be. I’m really looking forward building it and then enjoying it as a display piece.

Choo choo, a Winter train is coming

News (and pictures) of the new Holiday Winter train are finally here. For many, the long expected Holiday train is not a re-release of the Holiday Train from 2006, although it looks similar and has the right colour wibe. My attention was immediately drawn to some of the parts included in the set, the white leaves. Power functions are not included in the set, but the train is ready to run the tracks once they are installed. Other than that, the colour scheme is very holiday-like, there’s lots of green, red and gold details. For sure, this would make a nice addition to your holiday decorations.

LEGO Disney Castle

The news of LEGO Disney Castle hit me like a stone. I admit, I enjoyed some offline time during summer holidays, and getting back to virtual world with a news like that can be very exciting. I’m not a fan of the price, it’s a licensed set afterall, but I do like the many architectural details and interior design. It’s definitely something to get your hands on.
